Pohony is a manufacturer and supplier of industrial gearboxes, clutches, brakes and driving units’ components.
The company is based in Přerov, Czech Republic.

Origin

Pohony was established in 1994 by a merger of Převodovky and Spojky, the plants of the former joint stock company PSP Přerovské strojírny.

History

Our know–how is based on more than one-hundred year tradition of production of driving applications in Přerov.


Milestones of the history of driving units production in Přerov

  • 1852 - Heinik was founded in Přerov, a company producing transmissions, friction clutches, gearboxes and cast iron products.
  • 1899 - Heinik obtained the first patent for Benn’s clutch.
  • 1951 - The national company Přerovské strojírny was founded.
  • 1994 - Foundation of PSP Pohony a.s., a continuator of more than one-hundred-year tradition of production of driving units in Přerov
